A week ago, October 24, 06:30 A.M.
A bright light shone for a long time from an eighty square meters Han River view apartment at the 66th floor, an apartment belonging to Lee Young-joon of Yoo-il Group.
As a person who worked at home a lot, attending outdoor events, or going on business trips, he didn't have fixed working hours. Even so, like an obsessed person, he always got up at 5:00 A.M. every morning and started the day with a busy schedule. This routine especially happened today, mainly because he had to attend the broad directors meeting representing his father.
Through the dressing room's window, the city illuminated by a bluish dawn light could be seen. Young-joon observed the orange light from the street lamp, which was still on, then approached the uniquely-designed hanger in front of the wardrobe. There, was hung a gray shirt suit and a light purple silk tie, which were prepared several days ago by Secretary Kim. With designs and colors that were not too formal, it seemed suitable for morning meetings.
Young-joon changed his home clothes into the suit in a relaxed manner, then looked down at the table filled with rows of accessories that he could wear right now, such as cufflinks and tie clips that match the color of his tie, wristwatch, handkerchief and pen.
He was thinking, maybe he should replace the lighter that had been used for several days, but before he said it to Mi-so, the lighter on his desk had been replaced with a new one.
As he was wearing his cufflinks, a knock on the door was heard.
"Vice president Lee, have you finished changing your clothes?"
"Yes, come in."
A woman entered. She was wearing an apron while pushing a trolley with morning tea on it, followed by another woman in a black suit, who was holding one tablet computer and two smartphones.
"Here's the tea. This is First Flush Darjeeling tea. Because you will have a breakfast meeting this morning, I asked them not to prepare any other food."
"You can leave it there."
The woman wearing the apron left the trolley, bowed down and soon left the room. Afterwards, the woman in black suit, with her hair tied up, immediately approached Young-joon as she handed the tablet computer to him.
"Here is your schedule for today."
"Thanks."
"No problem. Would you like me to pour some tea for you now?"
"En."
While Young-joon was sitting cross-legged on an antique bench and studying his schedule, the woman in black suit walked to the trolley, took the teacup from the silver tray and lifted the ceramic teapot. Soon after passing through the tea strainer, the refreshing black tea scent spreaded throughout the room.
The woman approached Young-joon with a smile and handed over his teacup. Young-joon took the teacup that was placed on the colorful-patterned saucer with his left hand.
After taking a sip, he spoke with a little teasing.
"The tea tastes especially good because Mi-so poured it for me."
"You forgot to lick your lips."
"Ah, you got me."
Young-joon chuckled because of this woman's cold attitude for a moment. After seeing the meeting schedule at the German embassy, he asked her seriously.
"How's your condition today?"
"Very good."
"This is a very important meeting. You can handle it without any issues, right?"
"Is it my first or second time handling this? Of course I can do it well."
This woman in black suit was Secretary Kim Mi-so, who had worked for 9 years, including two years of overseas assignment, as Young-joon's personal secretary, advisor and stylist. From time to time, she also worked as his driver, and just like today, she would attend important (business) parties as Lee Young-joon's partner.
If analogized, she was like a multipurpose MacGyver knife. This 29-year-old single woman was not only good at work, but also had a slim robust body with great body volume, and a clean yet beautiful appearance.
Secretary Kim's right pocket suddenly shook when she was pouring the tea. Earlier, she put the two smartphones in each of her suit pockets. The vibration came from one of the smartphone, the black phone, which was for personal use.
"Should I answer it?" Kim Mi-so said.
It seemed that the woman already knew who was calling without even seeing it.
Likewise with Young-joon. For a moment, he sipped his tea, and the moment later, his facial expression turned annoyed.
"No. Is there any reason to ruin a perfectly good morning by answering a criminal's phonecall?"
Secretary Kim hung up the call from an employee, whose name was shown on the screen, who was just fired yesterday. Subsequently, she walked towards the clothes hanger and checked Young-joon's suit condition again, took the tie, then questioned Young-joon.
"A criminal?"
"Violence and theft are not the only things that make you a criminal."
Young-joon muttered to himself, enjoying his tea for another second, put the teacup back on the saucer, then got up from his seat.
He casually walked over to Secretary Kim while buttoning his shirt. Afterwards, he looked down and looked straight at Secretary Kim.
"Being useless, and being ignorant of your uselessness itself, is also a sin."
Although words that were hard to comprehend kept coming from Young-joon's mouth, Secretary Kim still did the job she was already proficient at without ups and downs. She put on the tie around Young-joon's neck with a smile.
In no time, a very neat tie knot was tied onto Young-joon's shirt collar.
"Hmm. But still, I just can't understand it."
Young-joon put on his watch and other accessories, folded the plaid-patterned handkerchief and put it in the back pocket of his pants, then stretched his hand behind. Secretary Kim, who had been waiting whilst holding Young-joon's suit, immediately put the man's arms into the suit's sleeves. The ash-colored suit slowly climbed up to Young-joon's arms until it was right on his shoulders, embracing his body perfectly.
"By the way, would you happen to know, Secretary Kim?"
"About what?"
Young-joon tidied the folds on his suit, then hooked the buttons. Finally, he sprayed the perfume given by Secretary Kim on his wrist, and stood in front of the three-sided mirror.
Even though the sun had not risen yet, the whole room looked brightly lit. Bright, not because the lights were shining brightly, but because of the light that was emitted by Young-joon's body, which stood confidently in front of the mirror, from head to toe.
He looked at himself in the mirror with a satisfied look, then asked a question openly and naturally.
"How could a person be so useless?"
If an ordinary person was asked a question like this, fear would definitely appear in his eyes, however Secretary Kim answered casually as if this question was her neighbor's daily routine*.
(*T/N: it means that she's used to it because she sees, or in this case hears, it repeatedly)
"I wonder too."
"Isn't that very simple? If we keep on perceiving, we surely can succeed. How could he fail to do this simple process? What do you think the reason is?"
"Because the majority of human is unlike you, Vice President Lee."
Even Secretary Kim's smile and answer could not satisfy Youngjun's curiosity.
He was silent for a moment as he looked at Secretary Kim.
"Is that so?"
"Yes, of course. In my entire life, I have never seen any other person as perfect as you, sir."
Hearing the words that were said by Secretary Kim, who smiled amiably, made Young-joon lifted his shoulders and smiled faintly, then looked at himself back in the mirror.
Yesterday's riverside horse race winner was the first runner. However, Young-joon was the first runner among narcissists— the top of the top, the alpha-omega of all annoying human being.
"Looks like another call came in?"
This time, what rang was the white phone in the left pocket, the phone for work purposes. Secretary Kim readily answered the call politely.
While Kim secretary was answering the call, Young-joon, who was staring at himself in the mirror, found a grey hair in between his hair. With a look that seemed to say 'No! How could something this disgusting exist in my body!" Young-joon looked at his grey hair and carefully pulled it out.
With an annoyed expression, he asked Secretary Kim, "Who is it?"
Secretary Kim pushed the phone away from her ear for a moment and answered with a smile.
"This time, it's a call from an absolute sinner. Should I just hang up the phone?"

Behind the thick wooden door of the Marketing Director's office, Marketing Director was heard screaming horribly.
"Misunderstanding! It's a mi- mi- mis- misunderstanding! Please listen to my explanation!!"
The words were mixed with crying, until his words were not clear enough to be heard. The voice of the man inside was stopped by the sound of something being poured out by Young-joon.
The crying man in the room was Executive Director Bong, who was 33 years old this year. If Young-joon and Managing Director Park Yoo-shik were to be ignored, he would be the youngest among executive officers.
To comfort himself, who suddenly became unmotivated because his declining work performance to the point of failing big projects, Director Bong recently visited prostitution places quite often. However, one of the prostitution place he visited became the target of police investigation. Subsequently, the fact that he enjoyed a full service in that place during working hours emerged. Even though it could be said that this was a personal problem, the problem was too big that even the mass media was not spared. The head of public relations department was currently lying exhausted because he had to work endlessly to remove Yoo-il Group's name from the original news headline, which now was titled "The Shocking Fact of The Prostitution Place Investigation! An Executive of XX Group In Gangnam was Caught!"
Young-joon showed his determination to give a death penalty by going directly to the marketing department. Usually he would call people to come to his office, but perhaps it was because he found a grey hair on his head this morning, his mood worsened.
